Finally, there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to relax in, such as North Glenmore Park, resulting in them being very easy to get to from most locations within Lakeview.

Around three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one quarter are rented. The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.

In Lakeview, parents and their children will usually be able to get to both primary and secondary schools without a car. However, families may consider it difficult for their kids to reach daycares as pedestrians. Concerning food, it is rarely practical for house buyers in Lakeview to travel to the closest grocery store on foot. Nevertheless, getting to the nearest pharmacy and therefore some basic food items is typically straightforward. There is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner.

This area is a fairly good part of Calgary for driving. It is especially convenient to find a parking spot. However, Lakeview is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Lakeview is not particularly well-suited for pedestrians because few daily needs can be carried out without a car. However, this area is a fairly convenient part of Calgary for cyclists. More specifically, there are a fair number of bike lanes.
