It is very easy to get to parks in the neighbourhood, since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to explore, like Griffith Woods. This area is also very good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are very calm.
Discovery Ridge experienced its biggest construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. In this part of the city, many buildings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy roughly 80% of the units in Discovery Ridge whereas the remainder are rented. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
There are no high schools and no primary schools in Discovery Ridge. Moreover, there are only a few daycares and accordingly they can be an extended stroll away.
